Live Stations of the Cross Devotion
St. Lawrence Youth Ministry
Celebrating 25 Performances
“I love to tell the story of how Jesus died for me.
St. Lawrence Live Stations of the Cross
Since 1999, the St. Lawrence Live Stations of the Cross is portrayed during Lent each year by the parish youth community. Students offer their time and talents to make the Live Stations of the Cross a beautiful Lenten tradition. By reenacting Jesus’s journey to Calvary, the faith of participants is strengthened as well as that of the St. Lawrence parish community.
All youth in grades 6th through 12th are welcome to participate. No prior experience is needed. Participants are awarded up to 25 community service hours which may be used to fulfill Confirmation, graduation, or high school/college application requirements. Student participants come from as many as 20 different schools in the surrounding area. This ministry provides an opportunity to meet peers and develop lasting friendships.
Time Commitment: Five Sunday afternoons during Lent (starts the Sunday after Ash Wednesday) with one dress rehearsal and one performance (the Friday evening before Palm Sunday). All take place on the St. Lawrence parish campus.
