Description: Mothers’ Prayer Group (MPG) is a community of women who help each other grow closer to God through prayer and scripture study. We support each other along the way through fellowship. Additionally, we help our community through service and raise funds through the Used Uniform Sales to subsidize various ministries at the parish and school.
Membership: Mothers and spiritual mothers from any parish or school are invited to attend. The only requirement is that women have a desire to learn the Catholic faith, read scripture, pray, and find fellowship with other Christian women.
Time Commitment: Ladies are encouraged to come to our gatherings each Wednesday during the school year, but they do not have to commit to attending all meetings in order to remain a member.
Ministry Activities: Mothers’ Prayer Group offers members the opportunity to participate in the following: Sunday Gospel reading and discussion, service projects, guest speaker presentations, Adoration, fellowship, faith formation, and prayer. *This year we will be initiating a Traveling Mary Statue which will move to a new class at the school each week. During that week, we will be praying in a special way for that class and their intentions
Meeting Frequency & Location: First Wednesday of the Month during the school year: Rosary at 8:00 AM at the Statue of Mary (or in the Bethlehem room of the church if weather does not permit).
Other Wednesdays of the Month during the school year: Meetings to take place in St. Augustine Room of Higgins Hall following 8:30 AM School Mass from 9:30-10:15. *We are working to plan a special activity during one of these meetings each month so be sure to subscribe to our email list to stay up to date.
Childcare: Free babysitting services are available by request during meetings in the Glendalough Room of Higgins Hall. *Please let us know by the Sunday before the meeting if you will be utilizing this service so we can make arrangements to have adequate staffing available.
Newsletter: We send out a weekly newsletter with announcements about future activities and prayer requests. *New this year, we will be including a “swap page” for mothers to reach out who are in search of goods or who have items they want to pass along.
