St. Lawrence Angel Tree Ministry

St. Lawrence Parish celebrates the birth of Jesus by giving and sharing our love and Christmas cheer with those who are in most need in our parish and the community.  The Angel Tree Ministry provides gifts for those families with children who are registered parishioners, Matthew 25 families and those who live within our parish boundary.

The Angel Tree Ministry is seasonal.  We begin planning and registering families in late October.  The Angel Tree is set up in the church early to mid-November and is up until the first or second week in December.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Bilingual volunteers needed to register MT25 families and parishioners requesting gifts. Registration takes place in late October.
  • Create labels and decorate ornaments to be placed on the tree in early November.
  • Volunteers are desperately needed to collect gifts under the tree and move them to a secure location, sort and organize gifts after each Mass.
    • after every Mass on the weekends. At least one volunteer is needed for each Mass
    • daily during the week, early to mid-afternoons
  • Organize and verify that all wish lists have been received and the end of the collection period.
  • Bag gifts for distribution to our families and for the outside ministries we serve.
  • Move gifts for our Matthew 25 families to the pantry.  Sort and bag gifts for each MT25 family.
  • Bilingual volunteers are needed for distribution of gifts to our MT25 families in mid-December.
